Hello could I bother you with a question I wanted to educate myself and watch the mcu movies in what order should I watch them?
I’ve always said, you’re best off watching the movies as they were intended to be seen, in release order. I see a few people start with Captain America simply because it’s set in the 1940’s as opposed to present day, then go from there, but with that film for example, it references Odin and whatnot, so if you watch it before you watch the first Thor movie, the subtle references that would’ve made you go “Ooh” slightly won’t do anything at all. A good example is if you watched Captain Marvel after Captain America simply because it’s set in the 90’s; there’s a certain item that’s featured in that movie that wouldn’t carry the same infamous weight as it would if you watched the films in proper order. Also, when you get to Phase 3, a handful of the movies take place around the same time, some in America, one in Wakanda and one in space, so to avoid confusion, just watch them in order! The order being: Iron-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron-Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers (or Avengers Assemble if you’re from the UK), Iron-Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and lastly, Spider-Man: Far From Home. NOTE: If anyone tells you to, “Just skip that film because it’s not that good,” don’t listen to them. Firstly, because your opinion may be different to theirs, since different people have different favourites… And secondly, there’s no point skipping any, since each film (regardless of quality) helps build the huge MCU world, which provides optimal satisfaction upon reaching the big Avengers movies.
